There are a few different signs when it comes to having a roof leak on your Texas home. These problems are usually easy to spot. If you have a water stains on your ceiling or running down your walls, this is most commonly a sign of a roof leak, although it can be due to plumbing issues as well. If the stains or leaks get worse when it rains, it is most likely a roof leak to blame. Finding the root of the issue is the hardest part in repairing your roof leaks. It is easier to go into your attic with a flashlight and look for evidence that the leak is coming from a certain area. The area will have water stains, black marks, or even sometimes there will be mold. If you do not have access to right under your roof, however, you will need to go on top of your roof and do an inspection up there. Most common areas that often cause leaks are where there are plumbing or roof vents, chimneys, dormers or anything else that penetrates the roof.

The solution to having a leak due to different fixtures that protrude from your roof can be as simple as replacing the fixture itself. You should still be careful and try to not make any new holes in the roof as this will likely lead to more problems and leaks. The ease of the fixing of the leak itself really depends on the severity of the problem. If you have a leak in your ceiling or roof, you will want to always check for mold and treat that right away as well as the leak. A leaky roof can be a huge issue if not treated properly, right away.
